The Festival of Words began in July 2019 in Garikula as part of the contemporary art festival Fest i Nova and ended in October.
“Frequently Asked Questions” consists of several parts: a residency, a workshop, a publication and an exhibition.
The residency brought together 35 participants: writers and people from other professions who work with words.Each participant chose a year between 1989 and 2019 and described it through a text in a genre of their choice.
In the exhibition space, as on a page, the years from 1989 to 2019 are reduced to a single sentence, sometimes to a single word. Gathered here, these years turned into words form our collective biography. Words spoken by different people at different times, in the press and on television, became titles for the years.
Perhaps it is impossible to describe time in a single word, to fit history into one word.
What is this? A subjective history? A biography? A lost diary or an out-of-date calendar? An encyclopaedia of lost meanings? This is what remains.
A few words: buttons for memory.
Pressing these word-buttons brings back stories, some forgotten, some lost, some familiar.
These words are riddles.
The answer is a history yet to be written.
სიტყვების ფესტივალი 2019 წლის ივლისში გარიყულაში, თანამედროვე ხელოვნების ფესტივალ “ფესტინოვას” ფარგლებში დაიწყო და ოქტომბერში დასრულდა.
“ხშირად დასმული კითხვები” რამდენიმე ნაწილისგან შედგება: რეზიდენცია, ვორქშოფი, პუბლიკაცია, გამოფენა. რეზიდენციას 35 მონაწილე ჰყავდა – მწერლები და სხვა პროფესიის ადამიანები, ვინც სიტყვებით მუშაობს.
მონაწილეებმა 1989 წლიდან 2019 წლამდე ერთი წელი აირჩიეს და შერჩეული წელი სხვადასხვა ჟანრის ტექსტით აღწერეს.
საგამოფენო სივრცეში, როგორც ფურცელზე – თითო წინადადებამდე, ზოგჯერ სიტყვამდე დაყვანილი წლებია: 1989 – 2019 წელი. აქ შეკრებილი სიტყვებად ქცეული წლები ჩვენი კოლექტიური ბიოგრაფიაა. პრესაში და ტელევიზიაში სხვადასხვა დროს, სხვადასხვა ადამიანის მიერ ნათქვამი სიტყვები, წლების სათაურებად გადაიქცა.
შეიძლება შეუძლებელიც არის დროის ერთი სიტყვით აღწერა, ისტორიის ერთ სიტყვაში ჩატევა.
რა არის ეს? სუბიექტური ისტორია? ბიოგრაფია? დაკარგული დღიური თუ ვადაგასული კალენდარი? ენციკლოპედია დაკარგული მნიშვნელობებით? ეს არის ის რაც დარჩა.
რამდენიმე სიტყვა – მეხსიერების ღილაკები.
სიტყვა – ღილაკებზე დაჭერისას ხან დავიწყებული, ხან დაკარგული, ხან კარგად ნაცნობი ამბები გვახსენდება.
ეს სიტყვები გამოცანებია.
გამოცანის პასუხი კი ჯერ არ დაწერილი ისტორიაა.
